Self-Portrait, 2010 | Acrylic on canvas | New York, New York

Using line, shape, color and the most important, humor – are main focal points for creating the abstracted figures. Exaggerating physical features, personal flaws, cons, habits, and even favorite foods are recognizable throughout his body of work.

Controversy has also become an attribute to his series since he heard the quote from a professor “You have to follow the rules to break the rules.” That was in context to his straightforward phallic imagery in his previous paintings. Since then, you can still find traces of homoerotic and phallic shapes in his most recent work.

Easily inspired by New York City alone - the weather, music, books, movies, fashion, and even food could be used as creative outlets. Current state of mind and sense of self have contributed to the creative process. Inspired heavily by Pablo Picasso, Alice Neel, and George Condo.
